Packaging Trivia night is scheduled for Thursday, January 26th, 2012 from 6PM – 8PM. Please arrive in time to sign-in, grab a bite to eat, and mingle with fellow IoPP members.

There will be CA$H Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!!

Laura Bix, Ph.D. specializes in healthcare packaging and leads a team dedicated to addressing issues in medical packaging. Her team works to solve problems as wide ranging as medical errors and patient non-compliance, to the increased rate of hospital-acquired infections through packaging design. Join us on August 18^th to hear Dr. Bix discuss her work with human-package interaction in the medical packaging industry, along with the food and consumer goods industries.

PMMI is interested in conducting a trends presentation at an upcoming meeting. The presentation is about trends related to the food and beverage industries. These include economic outlooks and the affects of the recent food safety legislation. It will also cover links between packaging, processing and brand. As we discussed, we would like to encourage members to bring a colleague from the processing side to the event.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, April 28^th from 5:30PM – 7:30PM. Gwen Lorio of the Clorox Company will be presenting to our local IoPP Chapter on Sustainability Trends in Packaging. Gwen is a Certified Packaging Professional and has 30 years experience in CPG packaging. She is Clorox’s Packaging Eco-Expert and represents Clorox in the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and on the Packaging Sustainability Steering Team for the WalMart Packaging Scorecard. She is passionate about Packaging and its role on the environment. Gwen has been a great resource for Clorox and I look forward to hearing more about Sustainability during her presentation.
